Corporate History

1868 - 1912 (Meiji Era) Usu Murayama, the father of founder Hideyuki Murayama, founded "Sue Megusuri" in Sue-machi, Fukuoka, and began manufacturing and sales.
January 1917 (Taisho 6) Hideyuki Murayama founded the store, "Taiyo Shoten", and began manufacturing and sales of home remedies.
November 1924 (Taisho 13) Renamed company to Tenyosya Limited Partership and moved to Fukuoka City.
January 1929 (Showa 4) Began manufacturing and sales of "Peptone Iron", a blood cellular component.
July 1947 (Showa 22) After WWII, established Tenyosya Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Business Corporation and restarted operations.
January 1971 (Showa 46) Joined MUROMACHI-GROUP.
June 1971 (Showa 46) Began pharmaceutical business operations.
December 1981 (Showa 56) Began manufacturing of health foods.
March 1988 (Showa 63) Began the manufacture of chemicals and electronic materials.
April 1990 (Heisei 2) Began manufacturing ion exchange resins.
January 1994 (Heisei 6) Began manufacturing of ultra-pure water related projects.
November 1996 (Heisei 8) Moved headquarters and industrial plant to Omuta-shi, Fukuoka.
September 1998 (Heisei 10) Company changed name to Muromachi Chemicals Inc.
October 1999 (Heisei 11) Obtained ISO 9001 certification.
April 2003 (Heisei 15) Established logistics warehouse adjacent to the head office.
June 2005 (Heisei 17) Established Tenyosya Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
September 2005 (Heisei 17) Established the Tokyo Branch.
June 2006 (Heisei 18) Health food manufacturing plant began operations.
November 2006 (Heisei 18) Surface treatment plant began operations.
April 2009 (Heisei 21) Began commercial sales.
August 2009 (Heisei 21) Completion of new office.
March 2010 (Heisei 22) Compound plant began operations.
December 2010 (Heisei 22) Established Muromachi (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd.
February 2011 (Heisei 23) Completion of second medical product plant.
